Hey, don't hope too much, but try flashing this file:

http://vcerny.cz/mx-vaclav_recovery.zip

(just unzip the file on your SD card, plug it in the device, power it on and wait)

I managed to unbrick my device with it (yay!). If you run into problems with "mac efuse", just install the .zip package manually through EXT option in Recovery menu.

Let me know a) if that worked b) how fast you download the file (since I'm curious about my hosting performance when downloading from abroad). Thanks!

Hello,

I found info how unbrick Tronsmart Prometheus on forum:
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?4...ick-method

Maybe this method works with DroidTV MX.
I think it should work.
Someone check this? Smile

Regards

Hi guys. I sent two members here private messages here last night with bricked mx units so they could try it out since mine is not bricked. I didn't want to put it out there as a working solution for mx till I was sure. I haven't heard back from them yet. Do you think I should post publicly anyway? It would be at your own risk obviously.

Thanks,

Iamwally

Guys,

@iamwally reported that he managed to unbrick his Tronsmart Prometheus.
He provided me with the picture what contacts should be shortened for this solution to work.
He didn't want to post this without being tested as he don't have a bricked MX box to test it by himself :-)))
He provided me with the pictures and the description.
As well today I got the reply from the Visson (Prometheus factory) with their solution for unbricking the Prometheus.
Because I'm quite busy at the moment, and I don't have the bricked MX to test these solutions, I decided to post them for your consideration. Sorry, I can't be responsible if this will totally brick your box. But if it's anyway bricked, that may be worth trying.

Quote:Just wanted to let you know that I think the solution you posted to unbrick ATV102 ( http://forum.androidgadget.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=144 ) will most likely work for the MX. It just worked on my Prometheus Clone and I posted so over on Freaktab forum where Finless has been desperately trying to unbrick his prometheus. Since my MX is not bricked I am not 100% sure it will work but since it worked on the prometheus clone and it is almost sam board I do not see why it would not work for MX. Just not sure which firmware would be best to use to create the recovery Bootable SD Card for the MX. Here is image I made to show people where to short.

Visson's solution:
Quote:put u-boot.bin on Root directory
such as E:\.

second, do as the attached screenshot.

Sorry, I don't have the DD. But I it should do the same job as a SDTool in the ATV-102 thread. If you have the DD, please share the link Wink
Please report if any of these solutions worked for you and if it did I will create a thread describing the full solution for other users. Thank you!

blutch,

thank you very much. Will check if this wifi driver file persist in the latest FW I got from manufacturer.
I'm afraid that FW doesn't solve the 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 migration Sad
Will keep you updated on this.

I'll give this a shot. Do I just cut/paste the dd.zip onto the root of an SD card, short the terminals, and boot up? Do I need to also push the reset button? Any tips are appreciated, I've got the bricked MX anyway!
