Not Solved [Possible Solution]Unbrick DroidTV MX using the UART
Guys, post your suggestions on how to unbrick the DroidTV MX after flashing the RC using the UART.
I would advice you to get a proper UART cable and use the clips to avoid the soldering:

@Anatoly will to guide you if you have a questions on this.

Anatoly:
Solution from @tomas_em
Connect UART
Start the device
In Putty press any key when you see "Press Any Key" message
type "nand erase whole" without ", press enter
Run standard upgrade procedure.
Feedback the result

@Anatoly, could you help Tomas on the issue with the bricked MX box?

Hi Evgeniy,

I have bricked box after flashing RC version. I want to try UART unbricking, but I cannot find there a way how to do it, can you post me the link with the instruction? Or should I try rather this method - http://forum.androidgadget.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=139 ?
And, just stupid question - please how to open the box, are there some screws or so, dont want to break the plastics.

Thank you a lot.

Tomas

Hi Tomas, there are 4 screws under the rubber legs. The device will open up easily.

Sure, I have to buy first appropriate cables to avoid soldering. I found them in a hobby shop downtown, so I'll buy them tommorow and then I'll try to connect via UART and get the log for you.

There is it - there are many NAND errors reported and then crash at the end of log. Is there a way how to reformat the NAND? Or how have I continue to unbrick the device?

Thanks,
Tomas

PS:
I repaired it via USART myself!! Just had to stop the UART log - there is a short pause with something as "press any key". Then I did "nand erase whole" and then "reset". After that I attached SD card with older 0725 image and flashed standard way - and - VOILA ... it works, now is internal storage reported 5.34GB free and everything seems to be working normally !!

Not Solved RE: Unbrick DroidTV MX using the UART
Hi,

what I find interesting is:
"...
Boot from internal device 1st NAND RB
System Started
U-boot(m6_mbx_v1@4dafb4dc) (May 21 2013 - 10:53:49)
..."
That's look like, that there is some think before the u-boot that decide to start from NAND or from SD (generated with DD or SDTools) perhaps with priority to SD with fallback to NAMD ??? ...

BTW: What have you done before brick your device?
I ask because of this:
"...
[ 0.000000@0] Linux version 3.0.50 (ubuntu@ubuntu-desktop)...
:
[ 0.000000@0] Machine: Amlogic Meson6 g02 customer platform
:
[ 0.667207@0] /home/ubuntu/mediashare/...
..."

Greetings

PS: Ok forget my question Wink
